Michelangelo's Sweater

I decided to start this blog going again thanks to the inspiration of a friend. Since I am no longer solely into Raw Foodism, I am going to start posting on just every creative thing that I do. Today will begin with an old sweater that belonged to my husband that I decided to refashion.

I had already cut the neck and resewed it into more of a boat neck which I really like but it still didn't look right on me. It was like a dress that hit at a bad spot. The elastic bottom and my wide hips didn't agree. So I decided to make the front hem slope up.

First I cut a straight line up the front center of the sweater.

Then I cut the arch, pinned it under, and sewed it up on the machine.

Finished on the mannequin

And here is how it looks on.

I accidentally cut the arch on the wrong side of the sweater...oops...but it doesn't really matter since the neck is so big. It shows a little more back which I actually like.

Someone remind me to stand up straight! Mom where are you when I need you?
